BWHC participated the Asia Pacific Regional Conference in Bali, Indonesia

BWHC Executive Director Mr. Sharif Mostafa Helal participated in the “Asia-Pacific Regional conference on Population Ageing” held from 11 – 14 September 2024, Bali, Indonesia. The Conference was jointly organized by the Ministry of National Development Planning of Indonesia (BAPPENAS), UNFPA, and HelpAge International the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Indonesia.

Approximately 300 participants from across Asia and the Pacific participated the conference to engage in discussions centered around the theme “Reframing Ageing”. The conference encompassed six thematic strands, including active, productive ageing; climate change and population ageing; communities and ageing societies; technology and ageing; social protection in ageing societies; and caring societies.

Mr. Sharif Helal also had a few other bilateral and side-event meetings with the Chief Executive Mr. Cherian Mathews, and Ms. Rhea Tariq, Director of Global Impact, HelpAge International, UK.

Mr. Sharif Helal also had a bilateral meeting with Ms. Elisa Marcon, Humanitarian Programme Manager – Asia, HelpAge International, Italy on the way forward for the older women on Humanitarian grounds particularly, during the natural disaster. Both of them agreed to initiate programs for the aforesaid beneficiaries in near future by establishing a fruitful partnership.

Mr. Sharif Helal also had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Hamza Ansari, Lead, Global Partnerships, HelpAge Canada. Both of them agreed to initiate programs for the aforesaid beneficiaries in near future by establishing a fruitful partnership.

Mr Sharif had a ‘Courtesy Call’ with Mr. Eduardo Klien, the Regional Representative of Asia Pacific, HelpAge International at the Asia Pacific Regional Conference.
