As of previous years, BWHC celebrated the International Safe Abortion Day 2022 on the 28 September 2022. This year, the theme “Abortion Uncertain Times” which is addressing healthcare, sustainable development and sexual and reproductive health and reproduction rights. Bangladesh Women’s Health Coalition (BWHC) celebrated International Safe Abortion Day 2019 country wide in its’ all-service centers/clinics including central office on 28 September, 2022. The program started with a rally and conducted a discussion session with the direct beneficiaries and stakeholders.

In Sylhet division (5 sub-districts) of school level among the students of different classes celebrated the day and conducted a rally on safe abortion which is an essential part of women’s sexual and reproductive lives and health and is essential to women’s right to bodily autonomy. And the human right to life and to health can only be achieved for women and girls if they have access to safe abortion if and when they need it.

Decreasing trends of unintended & unwanted pregnancy reduces all of the complications and deaths from unsafe abortion if safe abortion were accessible, affordable and available from the healthcare services in our countries.

To the sum, the participants were discussed the services BWHC provided and expressed their gratitude to the organization for this kind of activities/services to provide continuously from the organization’s inception.
