BWHC Executive Director Participated in Project Review Workshop at Kuala Lumpur
BWHC’s Executive Director Mr. Sharif Mostafa Helal participated a capacity building and networking workshop in Kuala Lumpur held on 03 – 08 September 2017 organized by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) with a view to review one of it’s project submitted to Safe Abortion Action Funds which was eventually, BWHC has been awarded.
The overall goal of the project was: Marginalized young girls and women of ethnic minority and tea workers in north-eastern part of Bangladesh have access to safe and comprehensive abortion care and other sexual and reproductive health services without stigmas.
With five separate objectives:
Objective 1: Improve the quality of abortion and post-abortion services available to women and young girls in Sylhet, Moulovibazar, Hobigonj and Sunamgonj by establishing modern facilities and medical abortion practices by the end of the project;
Objective 2: Improving attitude of stakeholders towards safe abortion to ensure women of targeted communities can access safe abortion without stigmas by the end of the project;
Objective 3: Increase knowledge on existing available abortion services through hotline for safe abortion and to reduce complications from unsafe abortion by March 2020;
Objective 4: To decrease stigmas towards comprehensive abortion care and post-abortion complications, MHM of the beneficiaries by ensuring comprehensive awareness program by March 2020;
Objective 5: Knowledge generation on current SRH issues experienced by the targeted population by the end of the project
