Major activities:

Awareness raising on safe abortion (MR)

The basic premise of this project is that a continuum of quality care in abortion service will be available in the community. Community women who plan to terminate their pregnancy will have access to these services and are less likely to suffer from complications and premature death. Post abortion contraceptive care will be an integral part to continue with their family planning needs.

Advocacy:

The main thrust of the project is furthering abortion care for hard to reach population by involving community gatekeepers. In this process, it empowers women and other key stakeholders including service providers with the necessary information and skills to enable them to make responsible choices and for the service providers to ensure the service. Sustainability can only be achieved when the community people themselves become aware of the importance and need for such services and become linked with the program and delivery of services.

Capacity building:

A pool of resource personnel will be developed from the community for sustaining the service seeking behavior of the community.
