- Started its first clinic with Menstrual Regulation (MR) service in response to reduce high maternal mortality due to septic and clandestine abortion. It has played a significant role in establishing National MR Coordination Agencies in Bangladesh (MRCAB) in partnership with Government.
- MR Fresher and Refresher training started for Government in service Family Welfare Visitors (FWVs) in menstrual regulation procedures since 1983.
- In 1986-1988, expands its geographical and program coverage (community education & incorporating other SRH and child care under clinic based interventions)

(CCPP) located in Mirpur, Dhaka. Since 1991 the project is being run by its own rolling fund. July 92 through June 1993 was the first year of a three year Program, which
BWHC is implementing. The coalition reproductive health project established by June 1993 are located at : Dhaka, Narayangonj, Tangail, Mirpur, Norsingdi, Manikgonj,
Norail, Comilla, Gaibandha and Sylhet. |

1. Water and Sanitation Program

Activities |
Amongst 40,000 households (HH) covered by BWHC’s program, 10,000 HH were randomly sampled: 4,000 households had no proper human waste disposal system: 3,000 households had no access to clean drinking water. BWHC provided health education as well as hands on training on proper, clean sanitation and access to safe drinking water through provision of tube wells to these HH.
